Call to Action!

bricolage-webhead-appealMaking Artful Use of What's at Hand!

Thinker and poet Rainer Marie Rilke claimed - we must hold to the difficult for that is where our creative treasure lies buried—an
idea often echoing in our minds in a year that has, in many ways, been
the most difficult for our feisty little company. Surely, the Great
Recession causes us to wonder about art: “What does it do? What does it mean? What is it for?” And, with our funding cut by half this year, the difficult began to look nearly impossible. Yet, to quote our tagline, making artful use of what’s at hand we suddenly realized we are actually standing right on top of our treasure trove.

What an incredible year this has been!

New collaborations with nationally renowned local playwrights like Tammy Ryan and internationally renowned artists La Pocha Nostra; dynamic partnerships with WYEP, Art Up and Leadership Pittsburgh; the launching of our late night summer smash-hit series Midnight Radio; our documentary In Service at the Three Rivers Film Festival
; and a critically lauded Pittsburgh premiere production of Jennifer Haley’s Neighborhood 3: Requisition of Doom.
The press quotes, anecdotes and testimonies agree - go to our website
and read to your heart’s content, blogs, and reviews, pictures and
podcasts: www.webbricolage.org and share our joy!

Along with this joy is the fact that right now, what’s at
hand is something pressing; something exciting; and something for which
we need your help. Bricolage has been challenged by a generous donor,
that if we can raise $7,000 by the end of the year they will match it!

Please make a 100% tax-deductible donation and help us make the most
of this generous opportunity and continue our commitment of making
artful use of what’s at hand—serving local artists by facilitating an
enduring atmosphere of radical creativity and bringing innovative, high
quality theatrical events to the Pittsburgh community.

THIS IS A CALL TO ACTION. We realize times are difficult.
But we are merely scratching the surface of creative aspirations that
truly serve a new niche, new community-based audience with over-the-top
quality performance, and next year promises to be our greatest yet.
With your help we can take the next step forward!

Most Sincerely,
