The hype, the police, the protesters, the world leaders. The G-20 has come to Pittsburgh and locked us down.
Many people are angry, many people don't care. Rumors are being spread and fear is thick in the air.
Our response to all this insanity? On Thursday and Friday we will provide a space for reflection at Bricolage. Brainstorming. Not dialogue. People talk too much. Come and write down your thoughts on our walls. Paint a picture in our space. Contribute your words and images. Not your ire.
A silent protest of writing and making art is our contribution. Everyone is so heated, so fearful, so hurt. With all that shouting and pain who can listen? If we spend some time writing and looking at our own and others words we might be able to see something new.
When you talk or shout your words disappear into the ether. When you write them down you are forced to see what you are saying. That changes things. You are held accountable with your own eyes.
Talking is overrated. There's nothing that will kill a good idea like a discussion. We're not interested in hashing it out with you. We're more interested in seeing what you have to say.
Come read what's been written. Write something of your own. Make you mark.
