For our 2010 Midnight Radio season finale, Bricolage recreates the Mercury Theater's classic end-of-the-world radio play - with a Pittsburgh spin.
War of the Worlds was written by H. G. Wells and adapted for radio by Howard W. Koch.
It was broadcast on October 30, 1938 on CBS Radio, creating widespread panic among listeners, many of whom actually believed the US was under attack by martian invaders.
In signature Midnight Radio style, Bricolage performs the story live, complete with vintage sound effects, musical guests, commercial spoofs and more.
Featuring Jeff Carpenter, Tami Dixon, Michael Fuller, Jeffrey Howell, Sheila McKenna, and Jason McCune.
Guest Starring Brian Sieworek of WYEP 91.3 FM
Multimedia Projections by Andrew J. Paul
Musical Guests: The Ortner-Roberts Duo
Midnight Radio is a raucous live comedy series in the style of classic 1940s radio broadcasts, featuring suspenseful action thrillers, vintage sound effects, musical guests, fake breaking news, commercial spoofs, and more.
